Natalie Iwai
36
Natalie Noriko Iwai was born in Papillion, Nebraska, on February 20, 1986. She grew up in Bellevue and attended Bellevue Public Schools, graduating from Bellevue West High School in 2004. She earned her bachelor’s degree in gerontology and recreational therapy from University of Nebraska at Omaha and pursued her career in service to seniors in St. Joseph, Missouri, and the Kansas City metro area. She lived joyfully though she fought through long bouts of chronic illness. In the end, her body could not endure what her spirit could.
Natalie was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She radiated love and thoughtfulness, and there is a hole in many hearts, especially for her sisters and her nieces and nephews. She and her boyfriend Joel brought each other great happiness. Natalie loved studying U.S. Presidents and visiting their libraries, beating everyone at Scrabble, choosing the best apple and personally handwriting letters. She never questioned God’s love for her.
Natalie is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Vicky Iwai. She is survived by her four sisters and brothers-in-law: Jean Eisenhut (Joey), Leslie Iwai (Steven Rikkers), Marjorie Maas (Preston), and Claire Reagan (Scott). She also is survived by nephews and nieces Elijah, Rebekah, Evan, Abbie and Isaac.
