Are You A Veteran?

The Funeral Directors and staff at Bellevue Memorial Chapel specialize in providing personalized services for Veterans. We will file necessary paperwork to apply for burial benefits and work with families to arrange interment locally or at a veteran’s cemetery. The links below will provide more information. Please call our office at (402) 291-5000 or email us with questions.

What does the VA provide veterans?

Veterans are entitled to three things: an American Flag, Honor Guard and a Grave Marker.
Our staff will make arrangements for each of these items.

What do I need to provide to receive the benefits?

A copy of your DD-214 (discharge paper). If you were discharged multiple times bring each copy and we will find the correct information. If you do not have a copy of your DD-214, you can request one through the National Archives.

How do I order a Veteran’s marker?

The Bellevue Memorial Chapel staff will order your marker and arranged to have it set. We can not order a marker for the Veteran until after death occurs.

What if I already have a granite marker?

If it’s an upright marker we can mount the bronze plate to the back. If it’s a flat marker we can order a small marker to place at the foot of the grave. Some cemeteries will not allow this. Give us a call and we would be happy to assist you.

Can my spouse get a marker to match mine?

Yes, at the families expense. Call us for more information.
