Lois A. Hansen
Age 91
Lois Ann Hansen was born on December 26, 1932, in Omaha, NE to Charles and Emma Schneider. Charles was the son of German immigrants and was a machinist with the Omaha Steel Works and was involved in many projects to support the military during World War II. Emma was the daughter of Swedish immigrants, and worked at Swansons Foods to help support the young family.
Athletic, talented, and pretty, Lois was a popular young lady and was often voted Most Likely to Succeed. She graduated from Omaha Central High and started college the following fall at University of Nebraska – Lincoln. On a weekend home from Lincoln, she met Don Hansen playing his saxophone at a local dance.
After a brief engagement, Lois married Air Force Lieutenant Hansen in May 1954, and quickly adapted to the life of an officer’s wife. Son Daniel was born in 1960 and David in 1968.
She enjoyed gardening in her yard, volunteering at the Offutt Thrift Shop, but most of all, her friends at Thanksgiving Lutheran Church.
Lois is survived by her sons Daniel Hansen (Kyle), David Hansen (Joy); grandchildren John, Molly, Matthew, Aaliyah and Avery Hansen.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald C. Hansen; parents Charles & Emma Schneider; siblings Evelyn and Phyllis.
Visitation: Saturday, January 11, 2025, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., followed by a
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., both at Bellevue Memorial Chapel
