Keith J. Paulson MSgt USA (Ret)

Keith Paulson, age 68, of Bellevue, Nebraska, passed away at his home on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

He was born in White Earth, Minnesota, in 1957 to Theodore “Pat” and Susanna “Anna” Paulson. The ninth of twelve children, Keith grew up in a lively and hardworking household rooted in the White Earth Community. From an early age, he carried himself with pride, strength, and determination, traits that defined who he was.

After high school, Keith entered the United States Army serving as a tank driver. His military service was one of his deepest sources of identity, shaping his discipline, loyalty, and toughness. Those who knew him remember him as strong, resilient, and unapologetically himself.

Following his service, he made his home in Nebraska and worked as a short-haul truck driver in Omaha. Keith never liked to sit still; he loved being on the road, riding his motorcycle, tinkering, and fixing things. Nature, the open road, a project in his hands – those were the things that kept him alive inside.

To his family and friends, Keith will be remembered for packing his lunch ‘with a growl and smile’ for holding his head high, for being a man of strength, and for loving with the same fierce loyalty he showed in everything else he did.

Preceded in death by his parents Pat and Anna Paulson; siblings Teddy Paulson, Rosemary Collins; his granddaughter Mya Paulson; and daughter-in-law Michelle Paulson.

Keith is survived by his wife Tina Paulson; sons Bobby Paulson, Justice (Alyssa) Paulson, Mac Maciolek; daughter Shannon (Carlos) Campos; nine siblings Patsy (Wid) Robison, Noni (Ross) Bordwell, Ray (Glenda) Paulson, Dave Paulson, Vera (Bill) Miller, Lilly (Jim) Pinneo, Karen (Mick) Brice, Billy Paulson, Penny (Rick) Kagigebi; grandchildren Cylus, Anthony, Natalia, CJ, Paislie, Ariana, Josie.

On Friday, October 3, the family will gather at the Bellevue Memorial Chapel at 12:30 p.m. and go in procession to Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Road, Omaha for a 1:30 p.m. Committal Service with Military Honors by the U. Graduating from school at only 5 foot 4 inches I literally looked “up” to my brother and though I have three other brothers, he was the one that I hunted with, got in trouble with, and learned how to ride bike with. Being men we rarely showed emotion to each other but when I last visited his house we had a couple conversations that I’ll always be grateful for. There was never any beating around the bush with my brother . You knew where you stood.
That time I hunted deer with him and dad on rat lake trail on an early cold foggy morning. The dawn was just starting and we weren’t there 45 minutes when dad and I heard a shot.. Less than 20 seconds later another shot. As I and dad headed into the brush to help him, Keith came dragging not one but two deer.. Dad shook his head with a smile, “Looks like our day is done”.

Say hi to mom and dad and the rest of our “crew”. Going to miss you till it’s my time to join you..
You’ll always be my “big” brother.

My Dearest Husband, even though it’s been 26 years of marriage. It was not long enough. We had so many plains for after our retirement. I miss you so very much. It feel lonely and empty without you.
    Always and forever,
    Your loving wife Tina

Keith, I was 13 years old when you and Karen were born. One memory I have is when Mom & Dad left me in charge of the house. It was normal that kids ran around in the kitchen while supper was being cooked. It was NOT normal for one of you to grab a knife off the table as you turned to face your twin. (I can’t remember which was which- let’s say you had the knife.) The horror we felt when that knife connected with her eye, it bled like crazy!!! Trained to panic later , I laid Karen on the table and dabbed at the wound… It had only nicked her eyelid! What a relief!! I’m sure that ended running in the kitchen, at least for a while…And then there were the games in the outhouse;-o I am confident that you, and Mya, and Michelle. and Ross and Mom & Dad and the rest of our tribe are with you having a grand ole time… till I join you, spread the hugs n loves…
