WILLIAM LARRY LUPANT He was born July 12, 1942, and raised in Ottumwa, IA. He was an only child of William Juste Lupant (died 1983) and Jeanette Amelia Sandstrom (died 1985). He graduated high school in 1960. He married Marsha Marie Graham Aug 1, 1963 in Ottumwa, IA. They were happily married for 49 years. Larry joined the United States Air Force in October 1961 and retired from active duty in November 1986 (at Offutt AFB, NE) as a Chief Master Sergeant/E-9 with 25 years service. He and Marsha had a few assignments during his career in the USAFLackland AFB, TX 1961-65 (San Antonio, TX); Reese AFB, TX 1965-67 (Lubbock, TX); Elmendorf AFB, AK 1967-70 (Anchorage, AK); Charleston AFB, SC 1970-74 (Charleston, SC); Chanute AFB, IL 1974-77 (Rantoul, IL); Hickam AFB, HI 1977-80 (Honolulu, HI); and Offutt AFB, NE 1980-86 (Omaha, NE). He earned a bachelors degree in Business from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1972. In November 1986, he joined the Federal Civil Service at Offutt AFB, NE then served with the Air Force Communications Command (AFCC) as a Manpower Analyst from 1986 until AFCC became an Air Force Element in 1990. He transferred to Headquarters Strategic Air Force Command until the command was inactivated in 1992. He then became a member of United States Strategic Command; J6, Command, Control, Communications, and Computers, until his retirement in November 2004. He served 17 years as a Federal Civil Service employee. He dedicated a total of 42 years in the service of his country. He was active in the Chapel programs at various military installations. He served on the Church Council (Properties Committee) at the Lutheran Church of Honolulu and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bellevue. He also served as the President of the Church Council at Lutheran Church of Honolulu He became Marshas full-time caregiver when he retired in 2004 until she died in 2013. She was diagnosed with Alzheimers Disease in 1999, at the age of 57. They have two childrenLaura Marie and William (Bill) L. Jr. Laura is married to Dan Dormady. They have two sons (Jonathan Graham and Steven Anthony and both were the apples of Grandma and Grandpas eyes). They have live nearby in Gretna, NE since 2007. Their Grandparents got to see pictures, home movies, and occasional visits during Larrys USAF career when they lived out of state. But its not quite like being there and witnessing your grand-childrens growth. They had a Shi tzu named Max. He was a great companion for Marsha during the day and enjoyment for them both in the evenings. His unconditional love was a great asset to them.
