Bill Allmaker was born on January 6, 1961, at Ft Bragg in Fayetteville, NC, to William and Glenna Allmaker. He passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Preceded in death by his parents William and Glenna Allmaker and sister Kimberley Haberkorn.

Survived by his devoted wife of 42 years Shelley; sons Joseph Shanks and his wife Robin and Nicholas Allmaker; cherished granddaughter Carly Shanks; mother-in-law Ingeborg Ruestig-Miles; sister Penny Tuttle; sister-in-law Arleen Salvino and her husband Robert; nieces and nephews Corey Tuttle, Benjamin Haberkorn and his wife Ruth, Robert Salvino, Chris Hills, and Heather Healy; 11 grand-nieces and nephews.

Bill was known for his unwavering commitment to his family and community. He spent many years as a Facility Maintenance Manager for Offutt Inns on Offutt Air Force Base, where he was respected for his dedication and meticulous attention to detail. He retired from Offutt AFB after 30 years of service, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and integrity.

His love for golf was infectious, often sharing his passion with friends and family. Through golf, he met many lifelong friends and participated in memorable trips, including those to the SPAC (Caddyshack reference) and even a unique polar golf event where he golfed on a frozen lake. These adventures and the camaraderie he experienced on the greens were among his most treasured memories.

Bill was also an accomplished gourmet chef, a BBQ champion, and could grill steak with the best of them; many would rather eat his meals over those from five-star restaurants. His culinary talents were matched by his craftsmanship; he even built a stunning three-tier waterfall in his backyard, showcasing his skill and creativity.

Bill had a warm, humorous spirit that brightened the lives of those around him. His legacy is not only in the memories he created but in the lives he touched through his kindness and generosity.

Services were held on February 10, 2025, from 5:00 ~ 9:00 p.m. at Willow Lakes Golf Course, 12301 South 25th Street, Bellevue, NE 68123.

In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree in memory of Bill, reflecting his lifelong commitment to nature and beauty.

Bill will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

    Life moves on,
    but memories don’t,
    You may nave gone away,
but our friendship is Right here in my heart.

I know we haven’t seen each other in several years,
But I hope you knew that I did & will always hold our Friendship dear in my heart!

I have very fond memories of Bill and Shelley during our time playing pool together. Even though I haven’t seen you in years, I will miss seeing posts of you on Facebook.
