Virginia Hope (Reed) Ashcraft

Born in Viroqua, Wisconsin, on May 23, 1925, Virginia’s life was marked by service and ministry. As a young woman she worked in the war effort as a “Rosie the Riveter”. She married a military man and traveled around the world caring for her family and ministering to her community. Being a wife and mother were her top priorities. When her children got older, she worked at Back to the Bible Broadcast in Lincoln, NE.

Upon retiring, the couple was involved in ministry with Cadence International in Spain and the USA. Later they served during the summers at Maranatha Bible Camp in Maxwell, NE, and spent their winters at Bibleville in Alamo, TX.

Virginia Hope Ashcraft, age 95, was promoted to glory on January 13, 2021.

She was preceded in death by husband George “Jack” Ashcraft, son Daniel Ashcraft and son-in-law Michael Sprunger.

Survived by sister Sharon Gabower, daughter René Sprunger, sons Jay (Jan) Ashcraft, Glenn (Sue) Ashcraft, daughter-in-law Joan Ashcraft, 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service following CDC guidelines on Monday, January 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Lincoln Berean Church, 6400 S 70th St, Lincoln, NE 68516.
