Vicky Georgine Iwai

April 23, 1943 ~ September 19, 2021

Age 78

Vicky Georgine Lye was born in San Rafael, California on Good Friday, April 23, 1943, and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Upon graduating from San Jose State University, she relocated to Washington, D.C. She joined the American Red Cross and spent a year in Vietnam serving the U.S. Armed Forces. Once she returned to the East Coast, Vicky met Paul Iwai in August of 1968. A whirlwind courtship led to their marriage in December 1968. Over the course of their marriage, they lived in Hawaii, Germany, Kansas, and finally Nebraska and welcomed five beautiful daughters along the way. Vicky was passionate and industrious about causes close to her heart, including pro-life advocacy and holistic health care. In 1992, she became a certified massage therapist and enjoyed gifting others with relaxation and calming. After losing Paul in 1997, Vicky carried on in raising her youngest two daughters. She went on to visit and help each daughter as all five pursued their educations and careers. Vicky loved sending cards to friends and family as well as visiting the sick and offering comfort to their loved ones. She delighted in her five grandchildren and had a generous, kind nature towards everyone she met. Vicky held fast to her Christian faith her entire life.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul.

Vicky is survived by her children Jean Eisenhut (Joey), Leslie Iwai (Steven Rikkers), Marjorie Maas (Preston), Claire Reagan (Scott), and Natalie Iwai; grandchildren Elijah, Rebekah, Evan, Abbie, and Isaac; sister Judy McDonald (Tom); brother Jim Lye.

Oh Claire, I am so sorry about the loss of your sweet, strong mother. What a legacy she has left in the five of you and your children. I know she is proud of all you do for your community. I believe your children now have at least two stalwart guardian angels though I know you would have wanted her to remain with you. Take care of each other!

My long time dear friend Vicky was an inspiration to me and so many. Both of our lives were never a dull moment and we loved sharing what was going on with each other. We enjoyed talking about our kids and grandkids and the Lord. We always ended the call with prayer. I look forward to seeing her again in heaven.

Vicky was a sweet and caring woman. In many ways she reminded me of my mother in the way she visited the old and sick. We still have the teddy bear she brought my husband when he was in the hospital. What a lovely lady! She will be missed.

Vicky and I shared some special moments together riding to various retreats and seminars. Her faith in Jesus Christ and His redeeming power was always evident and she was ready to share His love with anyone, She always had a smile even when life was hard. Blessings on her family as they walk this path of loss.

Vicky was the sweetest lady. ❤️ I am so thankful she and her family took me under their wing almost immediately after we met. Vicky was a constant example of selflessness and grace. She had a tremendous amount of love for her girls and all members of her ever-growing family. I will never forget how her stories cracked me up! 😄 I always enjoyed our talks. Vicky, you will be greatly missed, but your legacy will live on.🥰

Vicky was a sweet and precious soul. She and I had many lovely conversations after church on Sunday. We would always hug and talk.
She loved the Lord and was always willing to share her faith. I am sure the angels are still celebrating her arrival.
