BARRETT, TOMIE
Tomie Kogenaya Barrett, 86 years old. Born January 30, 1931 to Sato and Nisaburo Kogenaya in Yokote, Japan; died Sept. 14, 2017. Married to Charles Francis Barrett (USAF Ret., deceased) for 30+ years. Four children, Charles Martin (Ty) Barrett, George Steven Barrett, Catherine Tomi Barrett, Lucia (dec.) Debra Christine Barrett Day. Ten grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren. In her teens and early 20’s, Tomie was a member of the Japanese National Ski Team. She was an accomplished seamstress and made wedding gowns on demand. In her later years, she learned how to play the piano and belonged to a local rod and gun club. She was an excellent cook and even owned her own restaurant. Her most enjoyable hobby was fishing on the ocean or freshwater lake. Her religion (LDS) was her life, and she took her role as a temple worker for 8 years very seriously. Her family and friends will miss her greatly.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, September 18, 6:00 PM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2210 Harlan Drive, Bellevue, NE
Interment: Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO

Sister Barrett – Please be at peace for those of us who have not yet seen GOD, our prayer to walk in the spirit world with him. We are taught that life is everlasting because of Jesus Christ’s atonement for this world’s inhabitants, only if they believe and practice the teachings of our Lord. Keep your covenants and blessing will abound, we have but to obey these little things and we will also walk with our Savior. With love and prayer for those who are left here to go on and serve our Lord – we pray for comfort, wisdom and love. Prayers will be answered in the name of Jesus Christ I pray these things. Amen.
