Age 27
Thomas was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and was a graduate of Bellevue East High School’s class of 2012. He received an Associates in Culinary Arts and had a true passion for food. Thomas was a genuine and kind-hearted soul; he always put others before himself, especially his son Jerry Elijah.
Preceded in death by paternal grandparents Leon & Elaine Godwin; maternal grandparents Roger & Mary Johnson; cousins Brianna Anson and Bailey Rowe.
Survived by his parents Bruce & Mindy Godwin; brother Joshua Godwin (Tori); son Jerry Godwin and his mother Honour Boda; several aunts, uncles and cousins; many dear friends including Dan & Jeanie Whitaker; and his beloved fur babies Chase and Jozie.
Visitation: Wednesday, January 19 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Bellevue Memorial Chapel.
Funeral Service: Thursday, January 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Bellevue Memorial Chapel.

This is so sad my thoughts and prayers goes out to Bruce and Mindy and the rest of the family I have alot of great memories of him from catfish lake he always wanted to make people laugh he will be missed RIzp Thomas .

Dear Bruce and Mindy,
I am so beyond saddened to hear of this. Gosh, I have so many memories of you both, including the happiness you both had when Thomas was born. My Catfish Lake memories go back many, many years – even into my childhood – and those memories will forever hold you both, as well as Thomas. I always remember his smile. Praying for peace and serenity for you both.

Mindy not sure if you remember me but I was in LaPlatte with you and was Tammy Robb back then. I saw the post of your Son and wanted to extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family. There are no words I can give but sending prayers and hugs to all of you!

My deepest condolences to Thomas’s family. This broke my heart when I heard of his passing. We met at a concert for our mutual friend and became friends. I will miss him, even though we didn’t talk every day.. Thomas, you were loved by many and you will be missed by all who knew you.
Mindy and Bruce, our hearts broke when we heard this news, for you and your son and for Jerry, and all who loved Thomas. We only met him briefly, but he was very kind to us and a perfect gentleman. Will forever remember our CFL days, so much to say but can’t find the words. Fighting one minute, joking around the next. The infamous ranch fight brings a smile to this day. Rest easy Friend. Gone too soon but will never be forgotten.
Bruce, and family: In all honesty, I just happened upon this on Wednesday and returned on Thursday for the boxcast as a witness to your sons life. It quickly became apparent that you raised an extraordinary young man, and that the world is now a lesser place in his absence. With my sincere condolences, my old friend…..
