Hutto, Susan J. Nov 12, 1943 – Mar 21, 2012 After a courageous, two-year battle with breast cancer, Sue completed her journey on this earth March 21, 2012 at the age of 68. She was born in Omaha to Everett and Dorothy Johnson and lived in Bellevue where she graduated from Bellevue High School in 1962. She briefly worked in the nursing profession at Clarkson Hospital before meeting and marrying her husband of over 47 years, William “Bill”, in 1964. She traveled abroad and lived in many places around the U.S. as an Air Force spouse. Sue worked for years as a bookkeeper and devoted countless volunteer hours as a “Wednesday Golden Girl” at the Offutt Officers’ Spouses’ Club Thrift Shop. This organization raises significant funds for scholarships and charitable causes. Sue recently united with others at Anderson Grove Presbyterian Church to initiate the “WeCare” program’s local effort to prepare meals for low-income families in Omaha. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, John Paul “Jay” Johnson, her sister, Kathy Jurgens, and her stepfather, Leonard Neaman. She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughters, Karen and husband Patrick Ferrington, Denver, CO; Lisa and husband Mark Hess, San Antonio, TX; 5 grandchildren, Mark Hess II; Kenneth Hess; Kate Hess; Sam Ferrington; and Danica Ferrington; brothers, Erik and wife Vicci Johnson, Lake Ridge, VA; David and wife Kay Johnson, Denver, CO; along with many nieces, nephews and other family members. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Cody. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11am on Friday, March 30, at Anderson Grove Presbyterian Church in Bellevue.
