I am so sorry for your loss! Steve was one of my best friends at Scott. So many good memories. He was there for me during a really tough time in my life. I will always be grateful for his friendship, such a good man!
Jill and family…Steve was my supervisor at DFAS Omaha and one of the most dedicated and well rounded individuals I’ve ever met. He was always very approachable, greeted everyone with a smile and was a positive role model for all. Steve worked and played hard as he didn’t know any other way. There are SO many good memories of on and off duty activities with Steve (i.e. NCO Council, softball and community service). I hope all those good memories provide you some comfort and help with the healing process. Steve will be GREATLY missed! My sincerest condolences.
Our condolences to Jill and his family. We have only known Steve for a couple of years now and considered Steve a good friend. Working with him was a joy. His stories, laughter and smiles were infectious. Steve stood strong with his values dedication, working hard and his will to stay and finish the job. We will miss him very much.
Loved STEVE with all my heart as a little boy and always after that too. We did so many things together that I will never forget.—–STEVEs Dad
It has been a long time since we were at Scott AFB together…my first duty assignment. Had fun playing softball with Steve. He was a great guy.
A warm smile, a big heart, and a willingness to wrestle the toughest problems. Steve was as a wonderful man, an NCO who made things happen , and a loving family man.
My thoughts and prayers reach out to all. Steve worked for me many years ago when I was the Superintendent of Commercial Services at Scott AFB IL. He was a God sent through many close-outs. He was always cheerful and professional. An asset to all that came in contact with him. We will all miss him and may God rest his soul.
Steve was one of the good ones. He treated everyone with kindness and respect, and would do anything for his friends and family. My life is better having known him, and I’m sure many others feel the same way. Rest in peace, my friend.

My condolences to Jill and his family. Steve was such a kindhearted, good man. Always had a positive attitude, and greeted me all the time at work with a big smile. He was such a hard worker. He would not stop until everything was done. He would always be jamming to his headphones singing while he worked. He always made you laugh. Really enjoyed working with him, and getting to know him. He will forever be missed, and never forgotten.
Jill, Ron, Mona, Laurie, Cheryl, and to all of Jill and Steve’s boys and their Families, my thoughts and prayers go out to you for your great loss. Steve was the most caring, kind and loving and fun guy! He helped get the pontoon into camp in Canada during a horrid storm. Rita and Cheryl were with us too. It was hailing and he stood in front of me holding out that big yellow rain suit so I could keep my eyes open. So many stories with Steve. Wish I could be there to say “till we meet again”. Love you and will keep telling our stories.❤️
I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. Steve was a great guy and friend. I knew him at Scott AFB and he was a great friend to everyone who knew him. Rest In Peace Stevie B.
To Cheryl and family, I send loving prayers for this time of mourning
Thoughts and prayers to the family. At the service, my emotions got the best of me and it was hard to say everything I wanted to about Steve, but glad we were there. Steve was a great friend & co-worker to me and many of his Air Force family. Laura and I first met Steve in 1984–my first assignment at Scott AFB, IL Comptroller Squadron. We spent a lot of time together both at work and during off-duty time. Steve and I had a few things in common–I was born 1 week after Steve (Geminis) and both enjoyed our rock music. And during the last 4-5 years at Scott, Steve was our next door neighbor in the Scott mobile home park. So many memories with him and the AF friends we had until we left Scott in 1993. Whether at work, playing softball, golfing, watching football, barbecuing, or just hanging out, Steve was just a great guy to be around and have as a friend.

We all took care of each other like family and were blessed to see his boys grow during that time and became really close to them. We tried to keep in touch best we could over the years–I’m going to miss him dearly and wish I could give him a call again on his birthday. Rest in peace Steve.
