Sara Kyle Drake

Sara Kyle Drake

March 17, 1975 ~ March 27, 2023

Age 48

Sara Kyle Drake was born to Denny & Julie (Wright) Drake on March 17, 1975 in Loveland, Colorado.  She attended several schools and some homeschool for some of her education.  Sara graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins in 1994 and went on to college for two years at Metro State in Denver.  Her work experience was typically administrative but her second job was lots of babysitting.  If ever there was a baby to hold – Sara was FIRST in line!

Travel was one of her passions.  She was able to fulfill some of her goals in her twenties by visiting Israel, Europe, the UK plus went on several cruises.

Florida was her next home for approximately 14 years.  A second passion was to foster kittens.  She could never get enough of them!  The Florida weather, the beaches, the mixture of various cultures and Busch Gardens all appealed to her – however – she was lonely for family so gave that all up and moved to the Omaha area in 2015.

Experiencing Nebraska rural life brought her much joy in helping with baby goats, lambs, puppies and even kangaroos and a camel!

Preceded in death by her stepdad Jim Dubas; grandparents Jack & Connie Wright; grandfather Bob Drake; aunt Cindy (Drake) Karls.

Survived by her grandmother Norma Drake; father Denny and his wife Jan Drake; mother Julie Dubas; brother Rusty and his wife Katherine Drake and their children Barrett and Maddie; stepbrother Dave and his wife Misty Dubas and their children Kali and Cole; stepsister Julie Mangus and fiancé Johnnie Messerly and Julie’s children Cody and his wife Carissa and their daughter Ellie, Colt Mangus, Cheyenne Mangus, Micah McGillivray; stepbrother Don and Megan Dubas and their children Damon and Layla; stepsister Barbara Dubas and her children Paige, MacKenzie, Dominick and Colin VanLeer; uncles Charlie and Mary Wright, Jay and Monica Wright, Mike and Ann Drake; aunts Kyle and Neal VanWinkle, Connie Drake; and many cousins.

Oh how I wish this wasn’t true! Sara was beautiful on the outside as well as on the inside. I will miss reminiscing about our family Thanksgivings when we were young and our love for animals. My sympathy for Julie, Denny and Rusty. Sara is a beautiful angel now. I hope you all find peace.

Knew Sara through Calvary church in Clearwater, Florida. I’m so sorry for your loss. Sara was a ray of sunshine, loving people and her animals. I lived hanging out and laughing with her. She will be missed greatly. Praying for you all.
