Roxie L. Beaton
Roxie L. Beaton was born November 12, 1935, in Omaha, Nebraska, to the late Orville and Pearl (Juhl) Beck. She was the oldest of three children.
She graduated from South High School in 1953 and married the late Robert J. Beaton on July 7, 1957. Together they raised five children.
Roxie was a gifted pianist and an organizer extraordinaire. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, photography, nature, and travel. She was also an avid Nebraska football fan. Analytical by nature, she enjoyed the challenge of a good crossword puzzle. She loved writing short stories and poetry. She received her Nurse Aid Certification in 1981.
Before the advent of the internet, Roxie took on the role of family historian and meticulously researched the families’ ancestry. She loved and valued the connections she made along the way.
Roxie was a long-time member of the St. James United Methodist Church in Bellevue, NE. She was also a member of Eastern Star #325 and Daughter of the Nile. She offered her services, as pianist, spanning several years.
Roxie lived a life that exemplified personal excellence and a commitment to love and serve others. She pursued all of her endeavors with passion and perseverance. She instilled in her children the value of honesty and hard work. She was a good listener and an encourager. She found joy in daily living.
She is survived by children Randy and Jackie Beaton, Sandy and Jerry Jablonski, Brian and Lisa Beaton, Amy Magistro, and Susan Beaton; grandchildren Adrianna and Robert Magistro, Jordan Beaton, Morgan and Rebecca Lewis, Alex and Mallory Beaton, Kathryn and Christina Beaton; great grandchildren Capri and Kinsley Beaton, Morgan and Freya Jablonski, Arella Beaton; great great grandchild Braylon Rablin; sister Sharon Hull; brother Jim Beck; several step children, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Beaton; son Dwight Beaton; and son-in-law Tony Magistro.
Roxie passed away peacefully on November 8, 2023, four days prior to her 88th birthday.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 13 at noon at the Bellevue Memorial Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed by the family.
