Rosemary Fisher – Knott (age 94) of Bellevue, Nebraska died peacefully on April 26, 2024, among loving family members.
She was born Rosemary Margaret Kean on October 14, 1929, to parents Joseph and Grace Kean in the town of Dawson Nebraska and lived on the family farm. After graduating from Dawson High School in 1948, she relocated to Omaha, Nebraska where she worked for Mutual of Omaha.
In 1951 she met Oscar David Fisher and they wed on October 6, 1951, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dawson, Nebraska. They had seven children in over 20 years including David, Danny, Rose, Eddie, Brian, Tim, and Chris.
Rosemary dedicated her life to being a loving wife and wonderful mother to her seven children. She supported them through many passions and difficulties of their lives. It was her mission to improve the lives of others. As an Air Force wife, she lived in many places including Omaha, Washington DC, and the island of Guam. During her time in Guam, she was a volunteer for a medical unit that supported servicemen and women who were wounded in the Vietnam war. She was the business manager of a Rock and Roll band which included two of her sons. She was also active in her husband’s catering business in Omaha.
Rosemary’s husband, Oscar David Fisher, died of cancer in 2005. Rosemary and Robert (Bob) Knott Jr. fell in love and were married in 2008. With Rosemary’s seven children and Bob’s five children, they had 12 children (all of them grown adults at that time). Together they filled their home with warmth and kindness always leaving an open door to welcome their children, grandchildren, and friends.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her father Joseph P. Kean; her mother Grace Kean; husband Oscar David Fisher, MSgt USAF (Ret); brother Edward Kean; and sister Margaret (Marcella) Reschke.
She is survived by her husband Robert Knott, Jr., CMSgt USAF (Ret), brother Eugene Kean, and her children, David Fisher, Daniel Fisher, Rosemary White, Edward Fisher, Brian Fisher, Timothy Fisher, and Christopher Fisher. Rosemary also has 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and many close nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00 ~ 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Rosemary’s life at 11:00 a.m., both at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2302 Crawford Street, Bellevue Nebraska. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery.
