Kouba, Pauline Marchio (Lazzaretti) Pauline was born November 19, 1926 in Omaha to Angelo and Josephine (Spagnola) Lazzaretti. She grew up in the Little Italy neighborhood of Omaha, graduated from St. Joseph High School, and lived most of her adult life in Bellevue. She and her first husband, Paul F. Marchio, owned Marchio’s Italian Café, a longtime South Omaha steakhouse, located on South 13th Street. She was a talented and skilled seamstress who worked in the alteration departments of several local retail stores and sewed for herself and family. She took up machine embroidery in her later years. She was active in organizations at St. Mary’s Church, Bellevue. Pauline is survived by her children: Regina (Richard) Browning, Paul Marchio, Riccardo (Mary) Marchio, Gregory (Concetta) Marchio; grandsons: Paul Marchio, Mario (Nicole) Marchio, Joseph Nagel (Michele Burr), Anthony (Shelly) Marchio, Stephen (Mary) Marchio, Peter (Heather) Marchio, Nicholas (Lisa) Marchio, and Michael Marchio; great-grandchildren: Gabriella, Isabella, Owen, Colin, Evelyn, and Olivia Marchio; very special niece and loving friend, Nancy (John) Heida; son-in-law, James Goodbout; sisters-in-law, Antoinette Scott and Sharon Lazzaretti; many nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; sisters, Flora Lazzaretti and Irene Story; brother, Anthony Lazzaretti; stepmother, Ernesta Lazzaretti; husbands, Paul Marchio and Robert Kouba; daughter, Olga (James) Goodbout; granddaughter, Madeleine Marchio.

 

RECEPTION OF FRIENDS:  2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 28th at Bellevue Memorial Chapel.

MEMORIAL MASS:  10:30 a.m., Monday, January 29th  at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2302 Crawford Street, Bellevue.

Inurnment:  Bellevue Cemetery.

 

Memorials:  St. Mary’s Church, Bellevue.

    I am sorry that I cannot be there for the service. Pauline and her husband Paul lived right behind us in College Heights in Bellevue for many years. She was a great lady and a good friend. She will be missed! Joe & Jean Gamerl
