My Aunt Nonie was a fun, witty, intelligent woman with a ribald laugh, a love of life, a mischievous smile, and a passion for her daughters, granddaughter, and the animals that chattered and roamed and roared in the zoo.

I knew Nonie during all her days volunteering and then working in Education at the Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. I valued her friendship and her great contribution to the betterment of the zoo’s Education Department and the many zoo volunteer programs she worked with and the volunteers who will always remember her as I do.
