Nancy Patricia (Gilbert) Jones

Jones, Nancy Patricia (Gilbert) Nancy Gilbert Jones peacefully and bravely left this world and entered into the Heavenly arms of God, her mother and father, and was, no doubt, greeted by her little dog, Gretel, on July 5th, 2015. She was a brave and strong soul, as evidenced by her ability to meet the ongoing challenges of life. Receiving a gentle, loving and kind nature from her mother, she also received a strong will, determination and sense of humor from her father which made nothing impossible for her. Nancy, the youngest of seven children, was born on March 19, 1954 to Nebraska natives Gerald (Jerry) and Margaret Gilbert, early and lifelong residents of Bellevue, Nebraska. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Lawrence Jones and stepsons and spouses, Lawrence and Tonya Jones, Michael and Donna Jones, Timothy and Crystal Jones and Joseph and Hanita Jones. She is also survived by her six siblings and their spouses, Bob and Sanya Otto, Ed and Ellen Gilbert, Rozanne McCann and Jerry Tegtmier, James and Michelle Gilbert, Dennis and Donna Gilbert, and Peggy and Jan Mosby and her Service Hearing Dog Randi who she worshiped! She was the loving and cherished aunt to 15 nieces and nephews, and 26 great nieces and nephews. Nancy graduated from Wayne State College with a degree in Business Administration. Prior to retiring, she proudly worked for the State of Nebraska inspecting and licensing day care centers. Nancy impacted countless Nebraska children through her commitment and diligence in warranting that the day care premises she approved were safe, clean and responsibly worthy of the children placed in their care. Nancy’s intelligence, wit, and sparkling sense of humor will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her. Those who played Scrabble or Words With Friends with her may finally be able to win a game, but those in Heaven will have quite a challenge.
