Age  68

Nancy Jean Dangler Cook was born to Lawrence and Beulah Dangler on April 27, 1950 in Aurora, Nebraska.  She graduated from Trumbull High School in 1968.  Nancy graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a B.A. Degree in secondary education in 1972.  Nancy and Robert Cook were married on June 9, 1973 at the Methodist Church in Trumbull, Nebraska.  She and her husband Robert began their teaching careers in Aurora, Nebraska, where Nancy taught ninth grade English while completing her Masters in Education degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  In 1977, her husband accepted an elementary principal position in Sidney, Iowa.  Nancy began working at the Sidney Argus Herald newspaper.  Robert accepted an elementary principal position in Bellevue, Nebraska in 1980 and Robert and Nancy and their one year old son Joel moved to Bellevue, Nebraska.  Nancy enjoyed being a stay at home mom until daughter Rachelle started kindergarten. Nancy was one of the founding members of the Quality Living Guild. Nancy was also a part time instructor at Metro Community College.  She taught homebound students for the Bellevue Public Schools for a number of years as well as taught piano lessons.  She was active in her church serving as a Deacon and on several committees.  Nancy was active for many years in P.E.O. and the Bellevue Garden Club.

Nancy is survived by her husband Robert; son Joel of Omaha, Nebraska, and daughter, Rachelle (Jacob) of Des Moines, Iowa.  Additionally, two grandsons, Nathan and Caleb of Des Moines, Iowa.

Reception of Friends  5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Bellevue Memorial Chapel, 2202 Hancock Street.

Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Avery Presbyterian, 1910 E Avery Rd., Bellevue, Nebraska

Inurnment  Bellevue Cemetery

Memorials suggested to Avery Presbyterian Church, 1910 East Avery Road, Bellevue or Quality Living, 6404 North 70th Plaza, Omaha.

    Wishing you all the ability to draw strength from each other as you need. Nancy was truly proud of her family and wasn’t afraid to let it show. I’m glad to have known her.
