It was such a joy to get to know Miss Lilly. She had a passion for the Lord and a true love of sweets. We share the same passions. Praise be to God for letting us share time with you. Thank-you Keith for taking such good care of her and making sure her last few years were happy and stable. Love you all of you. Todd & Brenda Fester

I was one of Mrs. Mathews’s students at Gilbert Elementary in 2004. She was my absolute favorite teacher and I often think about her to this day. She was the kindest person I’ve ever met and would always tell my dad she wanted to adopt me. She would also let me help her grade papers and give me strawberry creme savers for my work. I loved her like a family member. For years, I would try to search online to find a way to contact her when I came across this site. It’s nice to know she lived a long, beautiful life. I love you, Mrs. Mathews. Rest in heaven, beautiful.
