Miranda Leah Manns

April 19, 1985 – March 27, 2022

Age 36

Miranda Leah Manns was born to parents, Linda and Pierre, in Omaha, NE and was welcomed to the family by her older brother, Jarvis.

The best way to describe Miranda was playful, smart and sassy. As a young girl, Miranda loved to laugh a lot and was always sharing jokes with her aunts, cousins and family members. She used to crack herself up at her own jokes! Miranda was an animal lover. She loved cats in particular and could always been seen cuddling her cats, Kitty and Jack. Even though he was five years older than her, she enjoyed bossing her brother Jarvis around! She would often sing her Mom’s name, especially when Miranda was trying to get her attention. Spending time at her Grandma’s house with her cousins was one of her favorite things. She loved all the girly things like playing with makeup, doing hair and weaves, painting fingernails and making her own jewelry.

Miranda enjoyed school and was a track athlete from junior high into high school. She competed in the Cornhusker State Games and was a sprinter and relay specialist. During her summers, she participated in the Bellevue Breeze Track club before graduating from Bellevue West in 2003. After high school, Miranda worked as a certified nursing assistant at local care facilities and later worked the front desk in hospitality positions. With a natural sense of adventure, her lifelong dream was to travel the world. Her greatest joy was her precious daughter, Aleera, who she shared with her parents.

Life brought many challenges to Miranda in the short time she was with us. We pray that she has found peace and knows that her family loves her. We will always love her and think about her. Her memory will live on within us always.

To cherish her memories along with her parents are grandmother Mabel Sexton (Clint); grandfather James Manns, Sr. (Joyce); aunts Erica Manns, Rose Sprague, Dulce Sherman (Allen), Mary Ann Johnson and Esther Mejia (Jeneen); uncles James Manns, Jr. (Beatrice) and Mario Mejia (Rhoda); and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her twin daughters Mary Elizabeth and Esther Ezra; maternal grandparents Rev. Mario and Maria Elena Mejia; aunt Sandra Manns;  uncles Donnie Manns, Kevin Sprague and Dr. Jeffrey Johnson; and cousins Vanessa Mejia and Jon-Jon Sherman.

Miranda, may you rest in heaven and be at peace. My childhood was filled with weave and fingernails with you at Grandma’s house. We had many weekends laughing and talking about boys lol. Rest in peace cousin.
