Melinda “Mindy” C. Dhoritey
Melinda “Mindy” C. Dhoritey of Bellevue, Nebraska passed away March 25, 2019. Mindy was born September 10, 1970 in Little Rock, Arkansas at St. Vincent Infirmary to mother Suzanne Pentecost. Mindy was adopted 8 days later by William Bryant and Barbara (Bolding) Dhoritey.
Mindy graduated in 1988 from Judsonia High School. In 1993, Mindy graduated from Arkansas State University-Jonesboro. She earned two Master’s Degrees in Education and in Math. She taught middle school at Bryan Middle School in the Omaha Public Schools for 17 years.
Mindy had a love for scrapbooking, traveling, family history research, and teaching. She loved volunteering with the Make A Wish Foundation Nebraska Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her father William Bryant Dhoritey.
Mindy is survived by her mother Barbara Poe (Bill); sister Jill Allen, and stepmother Kay Dhoritey (Latimer) all of Judsonia, AR. She is also survived by her birth mother Suzanne Nettles (Pentecost) of Hot Springs, AR; and uncles Ben and Norman Pentecost of Doddsville, MS.
Her interment was at Evergreen Cemetery in Judsonia, AR on April 1, 2019. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Bryan Middle School in Bellevue, NE on Tuesday, April 9th at 6:00 p.m. Memorials can be directed to the Nebraska Chapter for the Make A Wish Foundation at Nebraska.wish.org.
