Maureen Ann Swiecicki
September 5, 1946 – November 21, 2021
Maureen Ann Swiecicki, age 75, of Papillion, NE, passed away peacefully at home on November 21, 2021, surrounded by her family after a brief battle with cancer.
Maureen was born on September 5, 1946, to John Richard Markby and Mary Catherine O’Neill Markby in Chicago, IL. Maureen spent her childhood years in Glen Ellyn, IL, attending grade school at St. Petronille and graduating from Saint Francis High School in 1964. She went on to graduate from the College of Saint Teresa in Winona, MN, with a degree in Education.
In 1962 she met Paul Swiecicki, and they wed in 1969, going on to have three children: John Walter, Jill Ann and Alan Paul. Maureen dedicated her life to her family and her faith. Always thinking of others before herself, she will be remembered as a lifelong friend to many. Her beautiful spirit will continue on in each one of us who knew her.
Maureen was preceded in death by her father John Richard Markby, her mother Mary Catherine O’Neill Markby, father-in-law Walter Swiecicki, mother-in-law Lucille Swiecicki and brother-in-law Bill Hannah.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Paul Swiecicki, her children John Swiecicki (Jessica), Jill Webb (Jeff) and Alan Swiecicki (Melissa), her grandchildren Andrew, Dylan, Lauren, Christian and Nicholas, and siblings Kathleen Hannah, Bonnie Hanson (John), Susan Slocum and Jim Markby (Maureen).
Visitation: Friday, November 26, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Bellevue Memorial Chapel, with a Vigil Service at 8:00 p.m.

Memorial Mass: Saturday, November 27, 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2302 Crawford Street, Bellevue.

Following in May/June (exact date TBD) there will be an inurnment ceremony to lay Maureen to final rest at All Saints Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum in Des Plaines, IL.

I am so sorry we lost Maureen too soon. I cannot believe what we have shared when you welcomed me into your family 23 years ago. Wish I were there, but I will have hugs for all of you when I get home. God’s angel is one of our guardians. His Bless you all. Carol
