Mary Julia (Ballain) Yenney
Age 74
Mary Julia (Ballain) Yenney was born on January 20, 1946, in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Marguerite (Fritz) and Cecil Ballain. She passed away at home peacefully after a long illness on October 26, 2020, at the age of 74. Mary was raised in Iowa and Nebraska, and graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1964 where she was named a National Merit Scholar.
On June 20, 1965, she was united in marriage to Walter Ernest Yenney. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in June of 2020. Mary and Walter spent many years building their wholesale gift business through trade and craft shows around the country. Mary had a special knack for the crafts that she lovingly spent hours hand creating. Mary loved to read and could usually be found in later years reading mysteries, westerns, or reading stories to her grandchildren before becoming ill. Her true passion was her love for her 3 daughters and grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings Raleigh, Charles, Robert, Catherine and Joan.
She is survived by her husband Walter of Plattsmouth, NE; children Andrea (Matthew) Triplett of Eldridge, IA, Heather (Schon) of Bellevue, NE, and Sarah of Plattsmouth, NE; and seven grandchildren: Allison, Zachary, Megan, Kayla, Olivia, Alaina and Noah. Mary is also survived by her siblings: Jack Ballain of Shenandoah, IA, Sharon Newby of Nebraska City, NE, Colleen Poggemeyer of Nebraska City, NE, Tony Ballain of Shenandoah, IA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the family for donation at a later time to a charity of their choice.
