Mary Ellen Linville

Mary Ellen Linville

August 4, 1959 – December 28, 2018

Age 59

Visitation Saturday, January 5 from 9:30 – 10:30 am followed by Memorial Service at 10:30 am, both at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 4th St., Dawson, NE.

Memorials to be directed by the family.

Born August 4, 1959 in Auburn, NE, to James and June McGinnis.  A loved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Track star and high jump champ of Medicine Valley High School in Curtis, NE.  Mary was such a free spirit who paved her own unique path in life.  Mary McGinnnis and Eric Linvillle married on November 16, 1989.  They raised three children together, Angela, Ariel and Andrew.  She also gave birth to Amy before her and Eric’s children were born.  Her being so young, she decided the best for Amy would be giving her up for adoption.  All four of her children are pretty spectacular in their own right.  Also Mary has six siblings.  Scott McGinnis, Cathy Ericksen, Karen McCarty, Allen McGinnis, Paula Wakefield and Lisa McGinnis.  Her grandchildren, which she had such pride in and she cherished, include Greg, Camille, Isabelle and Mitchell.

Mary was most proud of how respectful every one of her children turned out to be.  Anyone who knows Mary knows how much she loved music.  If she heard a good song she wasn’t afraid to start dancing and singing no matter who was around.  It was in her soul!  Music and art were part of her passions.  Also she loved her pets like they were children.  Oh, how she loved her dogs! Being in the great outdoors made her extremely happy.  She was very in touch with mother nature and overall a very free loving spirit.

Mary Linville passed away in the comfort of her own home in Bellevue, NE, on December 28, 2018.  She had a very tough year of health problems with a weak heart and respiratory problems.  She’d been released from the rehabilitation center on Christmas morning.  Perhaps she was ready to fly high with the angels and finally let go when she was with her husband at home, surrounded by her beloved dogs.  We believe she is in a much happier, pain free place now.  God bless you Mary.  We truly love you!

In Grade School and Jr. High, Mary was always nice to my brothers and I. Her tall skinny frame let her be a great jumper! Sorry for your loss! John

My sister, my friend. You will truly be missed. I’m am so grateful we became close in our adult years. We all have our struggles but in the end we are family & would always have each other’s backs. I was always impressed with your ability & willingness to help others out. You brought people into your home that had no where else to go. You Fed the homeless on Thanksgiving no matter how uptight or uncomfortable some of us were about it. You truly had some open arms for those in need. I admired your brutal honesty. You would always tell the truth even if it hurt people. I wish I had that same quality. You danced to your own tune and that’s what made you so unique. It didn’t matter what others thought. There were things I didn’t agree with & things we argued about but at the end of the day we are sister’s forever & we lived each other. Till we meet again sis,…CHEERS
