Loreine E. Wilkerson

Loreine E. Wilkerson

Loreine E. Wilkerson, age 99 years, of Bellevue, NE, passed away May 5, 2021. She was born Jan. 23, 1922, in Myra, TX, to Alva and Eva Skinner. Loreine (Renee) was born a sharecropper’s daughter, married a military man, saw the world, raised 2 daughters, spoiled 5 grandchildren and adored 13 (+1 heavenly) great-grandchildren, just missing meeting her first great-great grandson. She loved being able to keep active and being a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Bellevue. She was also an avid gardener all her years and passed on her skills to her granddaughters. You could also find Loreine spending time in Texas, playing bunco with the girls or making sausage with her only grandson. Known as Mom, Grandma, GG and Sugar, she led a full life. The hole she leaves behind at this time is immeasurable.

She is preceded in death by her husband, CMSgt Harold W. Wilkerson and daughter Beverly Jo Huff. She is survived by her daughter Sheridan Blozis and husband Pete; son-in-law Richard Huff; grandchildren Lorei Hawthorne and husband Scott, Peter Blozis and wife Michele, Cinnamon Vraspir and husband Dennis, Chantal Barbee, and Christine Long and husband Kevin; and all of her great-grandchildren. We will all miss her dearly.

Thank you for all of your kindness and kind words. Growing up you always saw the best in me. You will be greatly missed but I hold to the hope the we will meet again when Christ Jesus calls His own home. Thank you and may the Lord make His face to shine upon you always.

You have been a dear friend for so long, I can’t even count. I will cherish the time we had together, gardening, sorority, NCO wives Club, the beauty shop, and baking. I think of you every time I make your recipe for rhubarb pie. It’s the best and so are you. Rest in peace my dear friend you will be greatly missed.
