Lawrence Dean “Larry” Denton MSgt USAF (Ret)

Retired U.S. Air Force MSgt Lawrence Dean Denton, 75, of Bellevue, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

During his almost 23 years of honorable service to his country, he received an Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Service Award, Air Force Organizational Excellence Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with six oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal – Korea, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon with one oak leaf cluster, and Air Force Longevity Service Award with four oak leaf clusters.

After retirement, Larry was active in the community as a founding member of the Bellevue Soccer Club, serving as a referee, coach, council member, and president.

He is preceded in death by his wife Sandra Denton, parents Otto T. Denton and Odell Smith Denton, his stepfather Harvey Guynn, and his brother Gerald (Jerry) Denton.

Survived by his two sons, Patrick Denton and his wife Kristine, Daniel Denton and his wife Holly, as well as grandchildren Josh, Zach, Garrett, and Gavin.

Visitation: Tuesday, March 8, 2022, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., followed by a

Funeral Service at 6:30 p.m. both at the Bellevue Memorial Funeral Chapel.

Private Interment

In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to the American Cancer Society.
