Age 84

Laura Horne passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Osceola, Wisconsin where she met the love of her life, Marion.  Being a military wife, she traveled the world with Murry and their four daughters. Some of her most memorable places stationed together were Turkey, Hawaii, and Germany.

Laura worked for the Bellevue Public Schools for 17 years at various schools. Upon retiring, she volunteered and assisted in her daughter’s classroom for another 17 years.

She was an active member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Throughout her years at Pilgrim, Laura was a Sunday school teacher as well as a VBS teacher, and a member of the women’s bible study group. She spent countless hours making quilts that were donated to many charitable organizations.

Laura had endless talents, from sewing, embroidery, quilt making, ceramics, gardening, and baking. She was also an avid sports fan, and you could always find her cheering for the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family.

Preceded in death by her parents Fred & Ruth Peper; sister Irene Peper; brother-in-law Bob Heil; grandson Shaun Stine.

Survived by her husband of 63 years Marion; daughters Terry Stine (Ken), Monica Evon (Steven), Stacy O’Malley (Craig), Sonya Rodgers (Bradley); nine grandchildren; one great granddaughter; sister Julia Heil.

Visitation:  Friday, April 7, 11:00 am – Noon, followed by a

Funeral Service at Noon, both at the Bellevue Memorial Funeral Chapel.

    We are so very sorry. Mrs. Horne was such a wonderful
    Blessing to so many.,especially children. Unfortunately, we are out of town and will not be able to be there for the service. Know you will be in our prayers.

    Dear Marion and family, I was so sorry to hear of Laura’s death. She will be missed by so many of us. She had a calming nature and a smile that could light up the world. May her love and your memories to you all comfort and peace.
