Kim D. (Grinnell) Kimsey
A beautiful, brave and resilient soul, Kim passed away on February 2, 2021, at the age of 64. She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth and mother Bonnie Grinnell, as well as mother-in-law Alta Kimsey. Kim will always be deeply loved by her husband Brian Kimsey, whom she adored, as well as their beloved Akita, Kona. She is also survived by sister Kelly Grinnell and nephew George Grinnell of Bellevue, Nebraska; father-in-law General (Retired) Melborne Kimsey; sisters-in-law Azonia Haney of Oregon, Romana Hackbart (Trace) of California; and brothers-in-law Mel (Karla) of California, Dale (Pat) of Utah, and Vance of North Carolina. Kim was surrounded by the love of many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Through her bright smile, keen sense of humor and innate kindness, she indelibly touched the lives of everyone she met. A graduate of Bellevue High School, Kim received a degree in economics from Northern Illinois University. She spent the last 22 years as a mortgage broker in Southern California, helping countless families get into their dream homes. Kim loved life whether she was home in Nebraska, atop a mountain or at the beach. She enjoyed hosting get-togethers and making others feel special.
Memorial services will be held in California and in Bellevue, Nebraska, where she will be laid to rest next to her parents in a family plot at the Bellevue Cemetery.
Dear Kelly and George, My heart is with you as you say goodbye to your dear sister and aunt, Kim. May you, Brian and all who love Kim be comforted by the joy she brought to your lives.
It’s been 43 years since I have meeting Brian in the US Army Flight School at Fort Rucker Alabama (Class 78-22), My prayer is for Brian and the family as this time of sorrow.
