Joyce was born February 12, 1940, to Leo and Florence Prauner.  She grew up on a farm outside of Battle Creek, Nebraska.

She was in the class of 1957 at Battle Creek High School.  She received her associate degree at Norfolk Junior College in 1959.  She chased her big dream to move to the big city of Omaha.  Joyce worked in the accounting department at Northern Natural Gas. She soon met an Ohio man stationed at Offutt AFB, her husband of over 50 years.  They were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Battle Creek on October 13th, 1962.  They had two daughters Laurie (1963) and Julie (1965).

She loved sports, all sports.  She worked lunches during the school year at Lil Willy’s, for many years and also Joe Tess’s.  They held season tickets for the Omaha Royals for many years.  They were also Husker fans, huge husker fans.  They traveled to many bowl games and also held season tickets.  They loved to travel and had many fun adventures.

Joyce enjoyed the girls’ NCAA tournament, Girls Husker volleyball, golf, and especially watching tennis. She never met someone she didn’t get to know.  She discussed sports, religion, or politics with anyone willing.  She loved to laugh and tell stories.  She will be deeply missed by her loved family and many, many friends.
