This short obituary doesn’t tell the true story of John, one of our nation’s heroes. John spent most of his military career flying extremely hazardous reconnaissance missions, primarily against the Soviet Union. Although he was too humble to use the word “hero” to describe himself, he was just that. He earned numerous medals and awards for those missions. He was a pleasure to fly with and will be missed by those of us who were his comrades. RIP, John. Condolences to your family.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends. John was admired by his fellow Air Force flyers. R.I.P. John.
Dear Wilma and Family, I remember John well from your visits to our home next door to John’s folks in Topeka. We looked forward to his interesting stories, always adventurous! He loved to share his slides of exotic (to us!) places! Mom and Dad (George and Evelyn) thought: the world of John and his parents. God bless you all.
