John Robert Bowersox, age 77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children.

John was born in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania and graduated from Mifflinburg High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Germany. He was a drywall contractor, a long-time dairy farmer and school bus driver in Carroll County, Missouri and corrections officer for the Missouri Department of Corrections in Chillicothe and Maryville, Missouri.

John was a patriotic American with an interest in genealogy and history. He was a collector and restorer of antique tractors and enjoyed playing cards with his friends and family. John loved sports, particularly Penn State football, college softball and rodeo.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Eileen Bowersox, and is survived by his wife Linda of 52 years; son Linn Bowersox (Linda) of Burleson, TX; daughters Christine Jones (Todd) of Dawn, MO & Paula Nordby of Bellevue, NE; grandchildren, Catherine Van Ryn (Nathan), Clayton Neal (Robin), Timothy Neal, Tanner Jones, Tucker Jones (Alicia), Erin, Elaine, Olivia & Grace Nordby; great-grandchildren Thea Jones & Houston Van Ryn; brother Ronald Bowersox; sisters Janet Smith, Glenda Pontius & Kathleen Virchick; and many nieces & nephews.

Visitation:  Tuesday, October 19, 9:00 – 10:45 a.m., followed by

Funeral Service:  at 11:00 a.m., both at Midlands Bible Baptist Church,.2407 Chandler Road East, Bellevue, Nebraska 68005.
