Age 73

Jean Marie (Adams) Leiboff, 73, was called home on April 26, 2018 after a brave battle with cancer. Jean was born November 13, 1944 in Gulfport, Miss. The family settled in Bellevue, Neb., where she graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School, Creighton University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In 1968 she moved to Mansfield, Pa. where she lived for 50 years, working as a speech pathologist primarily in the Northern Tioga School District, before retiring in 1999.

Jean was preceded in death by mother Rita Adams (née Cassidy) and her former husband Michael.

She is survived by sons Jeffrey of Atlanta, Ga. & Joshua (Karen) of Wernersville, Pa.; two granddaughters Emily & Abigail; father David Adams; brothers David “Bruce” (Mary Jo), Ronald, Timothy (Phyllis), Thomas (Carla), R. Joseph (Vicki) Adams; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jean loved laughing, traveling the world, reading, painting and watching her granddaughters’ theatre performances. An avid bridge and bingo player, she was passionate about the Democratic Party and Creighton Basketball.

Reception of Friends: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 1 with Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Bellevue Memorial Chapel, 2202 Hancock Street, Bellevue

Memorial Mass:  10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 2 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2302 Crawford Street, Bellevue

Memorial contributions may be made to her granddaughters’ favorite theatre, Reading Civic Theatre, P.O. Box 186, Reading, PA 19603 or the charity of your choice.

Inurnment:  Bellevue Cemetery

    Jeff and Josh, I will always remember and love the beautiful mother that is yours. She was a dear good friend and a beautiful person. We shared many wonderful and happy times together. My prayers are with you. Joan
