Age 82

Jean Hankins of Bellevue, NE, was born to John and Hulda (Abplanalp) Erb of Juda, WI.  She was raised on the family farm, attended a one room school for 8 years, then graduated from Juda High School in 1956. Following her dream of becoming a registered nurse, she earned a bachelor’s degree from the Uni. of WI School of Nursing in 1962. While at the university she met Russell Hankins and they were married on July 28, 1962. Jean went on to work 26 years as a nurse.

Preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Roger and Robert Erb.

Survived by her husband of 58 1/2 years, Russ; sons: Daniel (Christine) Hankins, Steven (Erin) Hankins, and Scott Hankins; grandchildren: Madison, Jonah, Olivia, and Luke; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation following CDC guidelines Thursday, April 15, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2311 Fairview Road, Bellevue.

Memorial Service following CDC guidelines: Friday, April 16, 11:00 a.m., at Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
