Although she was quite busy with her counseling load, Jan always made time for teachers who had concerns about the students she counseled. She was extremely sensitive to the “transition” necessary for students as they entered their high school experience and her recommendations and willingness to personalize her interventions differentiated her from many of her professional peers. Her truly caring and extra-miles focus was important to her two decades at Millard High/Millard South. My condolences to the family.

Thank you Mr. Brown, for your kind remembrance of our Mom and also for your dedicated service as a teacher for so many years! Our mother was pleased to know and assist students and staff during her time at Millard, thank you for being a special part of her years there.

So sorry about losing your mom. Your parents raised some very wonderful children with firm dedication to their faith as well as their beliefs.

Ms Ryan was a great person and got me through a time in my life that I’m not sure I would have got through without her!! Greatest lady in my unfortunate life. My mother died when I was 14, she said I will be your mother now!! I spent many hours in her office. She always had an answer. She came to our house and tried to counsel all of us, my father, myself and my little brother. When my little brother, 10 years younger than me, went to high school, she found in the first half hour and talked to him. She always looked over him also. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family. As far as I’m concerned, a school or part of one should have her name on it. Hope the family sees these, she was one of a kind!! RIP to a dream person. I’ll see you again with both my moms.
