passed away peacefully at the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017. Jim was born Sept. 11, 1937, and is preceded in death by his parents, James J. and Helena Baber, Omaha. Jim is survived by his sisters, Sue (Baber) Slaughter, Aurora, CO, Gina Baber, Austin, TX; children, James J. Baber III, Mary (Baber) Davidson, Robert R. Baber, Charles D. Baber, Thomas H. Baber and Joseph T. Baber and their families, all of Omaha. Jim’s passion was his service to his country, and it’s only fitting he was able to spend his last years at the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home. The Baber family would like to thank the Eastern Nebraska Veterans home for their commitment, not only to Jim, but to all the veterans in their care.
