Age 81
Hap was born on August 9, 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served in the United States Air Force for 22 years. After retiring, he earned a business degree from Bellevue College. He spent the next 20 years working at several Bellevue banks. He loved Bellevue calling it hometown. He dedicated his time to serving on Bellevue’s City Council, Planning Commission, Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and many other community organizations. He was an avid golfer, loved spending time with his family and, of course, cheering on the Huskers. On February 10, 2018 Hap entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving Family.
Survived by wife of 61 years Beverly; sons: Kevin (Cindy), Keith (Gretchen), Kerry (Sandy); daughter Kelly Niemier (Tracy); 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister Sharon Walker (Larry); brothers; Gary Engelkamp (Kathy) & Kim, many loving relatives & friends.
Preceded in death by parents Harold & Dorothy Engelkamp; mother-in-law Viva Chestnut; brother-in-law Bob Chestnut, sister-in-law Marilyn Roberts.
Visitation Thursday, February 15 from 5-7 pm; Wake Service at 7 pm at St. Mary Catholic Church, Bellevue.
Funeral Service Friday, February 16 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church
Interment Bellevue Cemetery
Military Honors provided by Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard

Soo sorry for your loss, “Hap” and I worked together in SAC. Great times and great guy. God has gotten a great helper.
As a young banker at First national Bank in the 1970’s Hap was a great mentor and friend. I am a better person for having known Hap,as are the huge number of others he came in contact with. A life well lived!! jim White
