After graduating high school, she attended secretarial school and worked for a lawyer in Detroit. Later she met Joe E. Madden, and they married in 1964. Joe was in the United Stated Air Force and that job took them around the world. Geraldine and Joe had three daughters Adrienne the oldest followed by twin daughters Angela and Erika.
While living in Nebraska Geraldine completed 38 years of Civil Service at Offutt AFB working as an Executive Secretary. Geraldine believed and instilled in her nieces and nephews that whatever you choose as a profession to be good at it, she felt she was an excellent secretary for whoever she worked for.
Gerrie was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. She also enjoyed dancing, listening to music and talking to her family and friends on the phone. She also liked playing Blackjack at the casino. Geraldine enjoyed shopping and getting her nails done. She enjoyed being a member of the Ladies of Leisure group and looked forward to their monthly luncheons.
Geraldine will be remembered for her love of her children, grandchildren and the admiration she had for her nieces and nephews. Please smile when you think of her. If you had the privilege of being in her company, you would know that she had a wonderful sense of humor and personality and always tried to make everyone feel welcomed.

To Adrienne, Angela and Erika, Geraldine and I walked home from middle school. We always stayed in touch your mother was very proud of all your accomplishments. She will be missed.
My mother was a strong woman who instilled strength in all of her girls. I could never beat her in cards or dominos and will miss trying to get a victory from her. She always impressed me when I was in school, she showed up for my sporting events and other engagements even though she had had a long day at work. Her giggle and laughter was contagious and she would smile all the time. Loved her soap opera, gameshows and bowling on friday nights. Some mornings I would wake to a cardgame that was going on when I went to bed. Playing cards all night was something she enjoyed. The memory of my mom that I will cherish the most is her love of music. I would hear music playing in the living room late at night when I was a little girl. I would sneak down the hall from my bedroom to find her dancing in the dark to her favorite motown songs. From that, I nicknamed my Mama “Geraldine, the dancing queen”. Love you mama! Rest well in Heavan!
