WHITE, ELEANOR (ARTMAN)

Age 85 yrs.

Eleanor (Artman) White was born on April 1, 1932 in New Wilmington, PA.  Her parents were Maurice T and Ethel L (Black) Artman.   She was an RN, completing her training in 1954 at Beaver Valley Hospital in new Brighton, Pa.  She began work as a nurse for medical patients at a state psychiatric hospital in Bridgeville, Pa.  She met her husband in 1955 and they were married in 1956.  Subsequent to her marriage in 1956, she and her husband moved to Connecticut, where she worked part time with geriatric patients or as a volunteer nurse.  Eleanor received a “Nurse of the Year Award” in 1976 from the American Red Cross for duties performed at the US Air Force Academy Hospital, Colorado Springs, Co.  Eleanor followed her husband from Pennsylvania to Connecticut to Colorado and back to Connecticut where she retired in 1994.  They moved to Bellevue, NE in 2002.

Eleanor was ordained as a Deacon in the Presbyterian Church of the USA while a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church of Enfield, Ct.  She was a member of Avery Presbyterian Church in Bellevue, NE.

Eleanor leaves her husband Jim, 3 daughters Susan Foshee of Bellevue, NE; Elizabeth Gunzinger of Woodbridge, VA; Barbara Waldner of Colorado Springs, CO; a son James of Highlands Ranch, CO; a brother, Howard of Pulaski, PA; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

VISITATION:  Monday, October 2, 2017,  5:00-7:00 p.m. at Bellevue Memorial Funeral Chapel.

FUNERAL SERVICE:  Tuesday, October 3, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Avery Presbyterian, 1910 Avery Rd E, Bellevue, NE 68005

Interment:  Wednesday, October 4, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at Omaha National Cemetery.
