It is with great sadness that the family of Edwin L. Hersey announces his passing on October 12, 2018 at the age of 94. He was born in Washburn, Maine on April 8, 1924.
He served in the U. S. Air Force for 30 years and was a veteran of WWII and the Vietnam War. He loved making and working on his remote-control planes, wood working, golf and his family.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents.
He will be forever remembered by his wife of 67 years Doreen; his children and their spouses Mike & Carol, Diane & Paul and Carol & Tim; and his grandchildren Jim (Vicky), Anne and Elizabeth.
Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 27th at First Presbyterian Church, 1220 Bellevue Blvd., South.
Inurnment 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 29th at Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Road with Military Honors

My condolences to Ed’s family. I have known him since 1991 and during that time I never heard him say a cross word to anyone nor say anything bad about any person. I spent many pleasant hours on the golf course with him. Ed, you will be missed. Godspeed.
Sincere condolences for your loss. Ed and I first met in the early 90s flying radio control airplanes. I enjoyed being around him and we had become fast friends. Our commonality, other than the airplanes and service in the Air Force, was the state of Maine. My best to you all.
