Edward E. “Ed” Montgomery

May 3, 1942 – January 18, 2021

Age 78

Preceded in death by parent Allen & Mildred (Blair) Montgomery; sister Charlotte Spears.

Survived by wife of 56 years F. Jeanne; daughter ​ F. Renée Montgomery–Carney (Scott Carney); granddaughter M. Anya Montgomery Carney; brother Ron G. Montgomery (Judy Yount).

Edward was the child of an Army family and spent his youth traveling.  He began college in Germany and continued at Wayne State College where he met the love of his life, Jeanne.  He went on to earn his M.B.A. at Xavier University.  He spent his long career as controller for three major companies and was a long-time member of the local Rotary Club.

He retired in 1999 and was called back as controller for a plant in Augusta, Georgia, and then a plant in Ohio.

After retirement he worked for Gifford Farm, enjoyed dancing, gardening, growing roses, music, and volunteered for many organizations throughout his life.

Edward was a fiercely loyal family man, friend, and employee.  He was ethical, self-less, faith-filled, and simply a good man.  He leaves behind a grateful wife and daughter.

Visitation following CDC guidelines: Friday, January 22 from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., with Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Bellevue Memorial Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial following CDC guidelines on Saturday, January 23, 2:00 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2302 Crawford Street, Bellevue.

Interment: Sunday, January 24, 1 p.m., South Creek Calvary Cemetery, Ponca, Nebraska.

In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to NE Right to Life @ https://nebraskarighttolife.org/donate-2/, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, or Masses, Rosaries or Prayers in Edward’s honor.
