Dorothy Elizabeth Liberto
October 4, 1945 ~ May 6, 2025
Age 79
On October 4, 1945, in Urbana, Illinois, Dorothy Elizabeth was born. Growing up surrounded by the beauty of the Midwest, she found joy in nature and the love of family.
When she met her husband Sam Liberto her life took a beautiful turn. Sam would marry Dorothy on December 31, 1976. Dorothy always would say she had found the best husband and dad ever. They both raised their children with unwavering devotion and love.
Dorothy was quiet but strong in her love for God and family; always filling their home with home-cooked meals; and taking the very best care of her husband and children. Dorothy loved to sew, garden, and appreciated the beauty of life. Each stitch and every bloom was a testament to her nurturing spirit.
Though she has left this world, Dorothy’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her husband Sam, children and grandchildren. Her lessons of love, kindness and empathy will continue on in their hearts.
As we remember Dorothy, let us celebrate the love and devotion she shared and the beautiful life she and her husband
created. A fabric stitched together with love, courage, and unbreakable bonds.
Preceded in death by her parents Dorance and (Minnie) Marie Evans; nine siblings.
Survived by her husband of 48 ½ years Sam Liberto III; children Michael Shaw (Angel), James Shaw, and Karolyn Warren (John); grandchildren; Sam Ruddy, Sara Hall (Bryson), Brianna Hurt (Hunter), Kallie Warren, Alexandria Warren, Olivia, Faith and Sophia Ruddy; great grandchild Violet; sister Velma Evans; numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was, is, the best wife I could possibly conceive of. She was my constant companion always giving me unconditional love and support. I was privileged to walk with her through many loving and trying experiences on this earth. I miss you! My heart is broken. I look eagerly to the day when we hopefully will be reunited with the Lord.
Dorothy had also had a love for antiques. I remember her bringing home old pieces and refinishing them to there original beauty. She was and still is an amazing and beautiful woman.
Mom, Your the best Mom anyone could’ve asked for. I l just wanted you to know how loved and missed you are . I’m sorry I wasn’t there at the end, but just know my love for you has always been there. You were always there for me when I called and always loved unconditionally. I love you Mom. Love, Jimmy
