Age 96. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Virginia and wife Nancy (married 71 years). Survived by his brother Billie Selby, and children: Patsy (Selby) Haagensen, Sonya (Selby) Horner, Norman Selby, Betty (Selby) Syslo and Brian Selby; grandchildren: Karen (Jason), Marie, Shaun (Becky), Brad, Tyler (Anastasia), Mariah (Andrea), Steven (Kelsey); step-grandchildren: Susie, Danielle, Brandon, Josh; great-grandchildren: Jacob, Niko, Demitry, Liam; step great-grandchildren: Valora, Cadon, Alex, Natalie and Summit.

Don grew up on a farm in Iowa during the Great Depression. After high school Don was drafted into the US Army and received honorable discharge in 1946. Don worked as a diesel engineer at the Electric Light Power plant, Hartley IA, then as a power plant operator at Fort Randall Dam. Nancy & Don moved to Bellevue and he retired with 31 years Diesel Engineer, civil service with the Department of Air Force. Don had a side business, Selby’s Tree Service. He loved hunting and was an avid fisherman at Okoboji and Minnesota.

FUNERAL SERVICE:  Sunday, March 6, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at the Bellevue Memorial Chapel.
