Age 100
Don served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a pilot and flew dangerous missions in the service of our country. He served a total of 23 years in the Air Force. After his retirement he enjoyed playing golf and billards with his friends. Donald’s family and friends have always been a great source of joy and comfort to him. Donald passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife Vivian Ann (Grimes), brother Richard FitzHarris and long time companion Deanie Sullivan.
Survived by his daughter Linda Shooter, son D. Mark FitzHarris (Lucy); grandchildren Todd Brown (Krista), Thomas FitzHarris (Holly), Lauren FitzHarris and Megan Spurling (Eric);
4 great grandchildren, Megan Brown, Madison Brown, Aubrey FitzHarris and Daegon FitzHarris and other related family members

Funeral Service: Friday, May 24 at 2 pm at Bellevue Memorial Chapel
Interment: Bellevue Cemetery
Honors: Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard

Uncle Don was a true gentleman, proud Veteran and family man. He was an inspiration to honor. We will miss him. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to his wonderful children, Linda and Mark, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. We were all blessed to have Uncle Don in our lives, and he will always be fondly remembered.

We did not know Col. F.itzHarris well, but recall meeting him at Krista and Todd’s wedding and were very impressed with him. A true gentleman. He will be missed greatly.
So sorry for your loss. I worked with Mr Firz in Civilian Personnel and he was a favorite of mine, many fond memories. He was always very kind. Sincere sympathy and prayers. Teresa Shank
