David Michael Marcum

March 1, 1948 – June 17, 2024

Age 76

Dave enlisted in the U.S. Army on June 29, 1970, and was honorably discharged on January 4, 1972. He continued another 33 years of service with the U.S. Department of Defense as a civilian employee in South Korea and Tyndall AFB. Upon retirement in 2003, Dave began life as a full-time RV’er. He traveled the country, visiting and volunteering with numerous State and National Parks. He spent countless hours hiking, kayaking, and sharing his adventures through his photography. When home in Nebraska, he spent time with his family and on the golf course with his friends.

In honor of Dave’s love of the outdoors, his family requests memorial donations to the Florida State Parks Foundation, 1700 North Monroe Street, Suite 11, #200, Tallahassee, FL 32303 or https://floridastateparksfoundation.org/donate/. The proceeds will go to Manatee Springs State Park, where he frequented with his daughters in their youth.

Preceded in death by his parents Robert Dale and Mary Cecilia Marcum, both World War II U.S. Army veterans who are at rest in Arlington National Cemetery.

Survived by his daughters Diana Marie Marcum and Ann Marie Morris (Jackson); grandson Dean Michael Morris; brother Robert Dale Marcum, Jr. (Jean).

Committal Service: Friday, June 28, 2024, 9:00 a.m., Omaha National Cemetery
