Claudia was born December 10th, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to John and Lillian Slowik. It was during a high school dance that she met Stanley Jurek, her future husband of nearly 60 years and they married in June of 1963. Being a military family afforded the young couple to see the world together. Their military journey took them to Alaska, New York, Florida, Japan and lastly Nebraska. Along the way, Claudia and Stan welcomed four children: Kenneth, Warren, Sheli and Erika.

Claudia worked for H&R Block, starting with personal tax returns. As she learned the business, she branched out to offer tax services to local business owners, start-up businesses and farmers. She retired after 24 years. During her free time, Claudia enjoyed singing, having performed in multiple singing groups over the decades, including the local Offuttaires. She loved being creative and enjoyed baking, cake decorating, floral arranging, and sewing. After Stan’s retirement from the military, Claudia pursued her love of travelling, having shared that her favorite trips included Sydney, Australia, an Alaskan Cruise for their 40th wedding anniversary and a family trip to Yellowstone National Park.

Claudia was involved with the masonic youth group, the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, having served as the Mother Advisor for Service Assembly No 9 in Kansas City, MO. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Bellevue, NE, enjoying the philanthropic and social activities of both organizations.
