Chun C. “Summi” Hayden

Chun C. “Summi” Hayden

October 12, 1940 – April 15, 2019

Preceded in death by husband Richard “Rick” Hayden.

Survived by stepchildren Debbie Christensen (Bothell, WA) and Ricky Hayden (Las Vegas, NV); special friends An Pham and family and Carole Thrasher and family.

“Bellevueites” will remember Summi as a cook at Lums Restaurant for 30 years.  She worked with An and Carole, and was well regarded for her homemade soups, salad, and luncheon buffet.

Summi had a truly tragic childhood as an orphaned and abandoned child of the Korean War. She felt very blessed that she was able to come to the United States and have such a good life. At the end, her life had been filled with many friends and families that loved her – her card playing Korean friends, her Korean Church, and especially being the ”Korean Grandma” of the Thrasher family.

Summi died after a short one month from cancer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of your choice.

Memorial Service:  Wednesday, May 8th, 6:00 p.m., at the Omaha Korean Assembly of God Church, 5603 Fay Blvd, Omaha.
