Christopher Jay Helm  “ Chris”

March 17, 1965 – July 22, 2022

Age 57

Chris was an employee of Werner Enterprises for 23 years, a member of Council Bluffs American Legion Post #2, and an avid motorcycle rider.

Preceded in death by Clarence and Charlene Helm; brother-in-law Kent Dawson.

Survived by his children Dalton Helm, Kelley Helm, and Kristy Helm (Joe Wiedmeier); grandson Julius Joseph Wiedmeier; siblings Colleen Kay Dawson and Cady Lynn Tebedo; mother of his children Shelley Shockey; many loving friends and relatives.

Visitation Thursday, July 28, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by

Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., at Wildewood Christian Church, 83rd & Giles Road

Memorials to be directed by the family

    Ohhh Helm Family… I can’t even begin to express the hurt I feel for you all! Chris was one of the most happy-go-lucky guys I’ve ever known and no matter how much time had passed, he always greeted me with a bear hug. I love you all and will keep you in my prayers!

    Very sad news….I met Chris over 3o years ago through one of my best friends…worked with him at Rod Kush’s in the early 90s …he was a great guy and he will be missed by all…Prayers to his family and loved ones..

    We were STUNNED to hear of Chris’s passing. Chris was a wonderful guy & friend and will be dearly missed, by those that were lucky to call him friend. Godspeed & here’s to riding that Golden Highway in the Sky !!

    So sorry to hear of Chris passing, hugs to all of the Helm family. Chris was a great person to know, always brought a smile to your face.
