Carl E. Covey Maj USAF (Ret)
January 29, 1932 – April 15, 2021
Age 89
Heaven gained the kindest, most gentle angel when Carl Edgar Covey passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. He was a retired Air Force veteran, but patriarch of the family was always his favorite and most important title. Whether it was sitting in the front row at dance recitals, baseball games, choir concerts, or plays, or getting the house ready for another holiday or birthday party – family was always his number one priority. He was an adoring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He always said he wanted to live long enough to see everyone get married and have children and he got his wish. There is a huge piece of our family missing with his absence that cannot be filled as we continue life without him. There is no doubt that he is watching with a careful eye over all of us left here on earth.
Survived by wife of 54 years Helen J. Covey; children Peter Labosky and Helen Horner (Jim); grandchildren Zach Horner (Stephanie), Jessica Stull (Chris), and Katie Waid (Daniel); great-grandchildren Jaxson, Harper and Aubrie Waid, Theodore Horner, and Charles Stull.
Memorial Service: Tuesday, April 20th, 6:00 p.m., Bellevue Memorial Chapel.
Inurnment: Wednesday, April 21st, 11:00 a.m., Omaha National Cemetery.
Military Honors: Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard & American Legion Post 331

Uncle Carl, who was my godfather, will be greatly missed. He was loving and thoughtful toward me and my late husband, Bo. Remembering the special days and the great times spent together. Although we lived miles apart he was and will be always close to my heart. May his memory be for a blessing.
