December 12, 1969 – June 6, 2021

Age 51

Amy was proud to have been born in Nuremberg, Germany, while her father was stationed there with the US Air Force. After having lived with her family in many places in the US and Europe, they settled back down in Bellevue, Nebraska. Amy graduated from Papillion High School. She then attended UNO. After working different jobs, she finally had her dream come true of going to culinary school for a short time. She loved to cook and bake. She was outgoing and had a bubbly personality that was infectious. Her family she loved most of all.

Preceded in death by father Terrance Sweeney.

Survived by parents Mary & Tom Glenn; brothers James & Matthew Sweeney and their families.

Memorial Service: Friday, June 11, 2 pm, at Bellevue Memorial Chapel, with a reception of friends one hour prior.

Memorials suggested to the Siena Francis House, 1702 Nicholas St., Omaha, NE, 68102.

    Amy Sweeney forever changed my life. Like a lighthouse she pointed me in a direction of new hope and possibilities. Amy was my angel on this earth. I am forever blessed to have known her. I am sorry for your loss. May God be with you.

    Amy was such a vibrant and beautiful lady. She had an amazing gift and her personality captured everyone she encountered! I loved her smile, joy and her giving personality. I will miss her 🙏❣️ She was a great friend to me! God Bless

    I was deeply saddened this morning to hear that Amy had passed away. She was exactly 3 days older than my daughter Amy and I loved her like she was my own. Heaven is going to be a lot brighter with her 😥

    Amy was a ray of sunshine! She had a huge welcoming heart and gave the best hugs! She brought love and laughter and will be missed beyond measure! Heaven in brighter now because of her. Such a loss! Prayers to her mom and brothers and all who loved her! RIP my friend…

    I was so saddened to read of Amy’s passing in the newspaper. I met this beautiful woman in the program. She was a joy to be around and she will be missed by me and many others who loved her. Rest in Eternal Peace my dear friend.

    I was lucky enough to have Amy be a large part of my life these past 3 years. My heart is truly broken. She brightened my days and made me feel that I was truly loved by her and her family. I will miss her dearly.
